Singer Annie Lennox Has Nerve Damage from Spine Surgery

Annie Lennox is determined to get back to the gym in 2011 after surgery on her spine in 2008 left her with a limp and a lack of physical confidence.

The "Love is a Stranger" singer has battled back from the pain of nerve damage, but admits it has been a struggle at times - and she did fear she'd never have the courage to exercise in public again. She tells Woman & Home magazine,

My left leg was almost paralysed because of a condition called drop foot. I thought I was going to lose my foot. I absolutely didn't want to be disabled but it was a very real possibility. I had physio (therapy) but spent a long time limping.

"Slowly, the range of movements are coming back. I've never liked exercise, but I'll get there."
