Amber Riley to Leave 'Glee'

Actress/singer Amber Riley has announced that she is leaving “Glee” at the end of this series.

The 26 year-old star, who plays the role of Mercedes on the show, tweeted about her departure, writing, “That’s a wrap on Amber Riley! Just closed a chapter in my life, the only thing I’ve known day in and day out for three years. I’m going to miss the whole Glee family, seeing them everyday! I have so many brothers and sisters now."

But I am looking forward to a much needed and deserved summer vacation! School’s Out Glee Kids! Let’s play!”

Riley’s character Mercedes is one of several that were scheduled to “graduate” McKinely High at the end of the season. But, the producers of the show hadn’t officially announces who would be staying on the show.

Insiders believe Dianna Agronmust also be leaving, with her posting a cryptic tweet, saying “I don’t know all that is to come, but I know what a day like this means. Four years of love, light and support. To the cast, crew and creators and to all of you that have shown your love along the way. We just can’t thank you enough.”

Amber was in the news for a different reason weeks ago when she collapsed on the red carpet at an Academy screening of “Glee”. She blamed her collapse on the photographers’ flashbulbs.
