Daughter of Donatella Versace, Allegra Versace, spoke out about her struggle with her public persona and an eating disorder.
In a rare interview with La Republica (via DailyMail), she said:
'I call this my period of absence, I was lost in other thoughts and couldn't confront reality, with my eyes shielded from everything.
'Above all, I wanted one thing - to be no one, to not be recognised, not be hunted down.
'I studied theatre, and it pleased me greatly to play parts in little independent films that perhaps no one went to see...
'Still, anywhere I went, I was Versace. I couldn't escape, and it did me harm. I hated Los Angeles.
Besides struggling with her family's empire, Allegra had another major issue, an eating disorder.
In 2007, Allegra's parents came forward and announced it to the media after much speculation. A statement released by a company spokesman read:
'Our daughter, Allegra, has been battling anorexia, a very serious disease, for many years. She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well.'
It's unfortunate, but there has been no update on her eating disorder, and I'm assuming she still struggles with the disease.
