Aerosmith to Release First New CD in 8 Years

Two days after announcing a summer tour, Aerosmith held a media event Wednesday in Los Angeles at the outdoor shopping mall, The Grove. At the media event they discussed their upcoming tour, the status of their new album, and greeted fans who came out to catch a glimpse of the rock band back together again!

While there is no set release date or album title for the upcoming Aerosmith album, their first new album in 8 years, Steven Tyler predicts it will drop about one month into their “Global Warming Tour,” which begins June 16th. The band still has to write two more songs and mix the album.

The album is being produced by Jack Douglas, who also produced their 1975 album, Toys in the Attic, and their latest album Honkin’ On Bobo in 2004. This new album will be the first album of new material since their 2001 album, Just Push Play.

Aerosmith is finishing their new record in Los Angeles, having recorded the basic tracks at their Pandora’s Box studio in Boston and Joe Perry’s Boneyard Studio. While the album is being mixed the band will prepare for their tour, rehearsing about 25 songs, including 2 or 3 new ones.

Are you excited for the new album and tour???
