50 Cent's Awful Audition for the Film 'American Gangster' (Video)

An unidentified source recently leaked a purported audition tape of rapper 50 Cent auditioning for a role in the 2007 film "American Gangster."

The film's star Denzel Washington was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of real life drug kingpin Frank Lucas who rose to power in the 1970s. Lucas became infamous for selling heroin, nicknamed "Blue Magic," from his headquarters in Harlem.

According to Defamer, 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) was auditioning on the video (below) for the role of one of Lucas' brothers, who is part of his mob.

Also, unintentionally entertaining is the deep-voiced woman reading Washington's lines with 50 Cent.

50 Cent lost this role to actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who has gotten strong reviews for the 2013 film "Twelve Years A Slave," notes The Huffington Post.

The anonymous tipster claims the talent agents behind the audition were from the high-powered William Morris Agency, but have since moved on to the equally high-powered ICM.
