A young lesbian couple in Houston was brutally murdered on their way out of town on a trip, and their bodies were found in a dumpster the next morning. Police are still looking for the murderer.
Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson, both 24, had been together for two years. They took off from Cosby’s great grandmother’s home, where they lived together, to celebrate Mardi Gras in Galveston, 50 miles south. That was the last their families heard from them.
Cosby was beaten to death while Jackson was shot, the autopsy report indicates. Police believe they were killed and then dumped in the convenience store dumpster, where a delivery man found their bodies Friday morning.
Jackson, a Starbucks barista, and Cosby, a security guard, were described by a neighbor as "soulmates."
Jackson wrote a Valentine’s message to Cosby beneath a Facebook photo of the couple.
“Words can't explain how u make me feel,” she wrote. “From the moment we met, I just knew u was the one for me, through all the tears, laughter, the good and bad, I still love u always and forever.”
Jackson leaves behind a five-year-old daughter.
The women’s families are desperate for answers as they cope with their losses. The police have little information about the killer or his motive.
"Just come forward, just to give us closure as a family. Just come forward, 'cause we need closure at this point," said Cosby's sister, McDade Cosby.
Galveston police released a sketch of the suspect, a black male of average size in his late 20’s or early 30’s. They are also on the lookout for his car, a silver 2006 Kia Sorrento with paper tags.
