A 6-year-old boy in Texas who ordered a Domino’s Pizza won the heart of the cashier at the restaurant as he proudly signed “Dad” on the receipt for it.
Jewel Cowart, a cashier at Domino's Pizza, said that the young boy came into the store confidently with his dad to pay for the pizza, according to the Daily Mail.
The boy asked her if he could pick up an order under the name “Thomas Jefferson.”
“Coincidentally, I had been his cashier a few days prior, too, and remembered him because before he had ordered under Abraham Lincoln,” Cowart said.
The boy then swiped his father’s credit card to pay for the order and signed the receipt “Dad” in printed letters, she said.
“He then took his pizzas, and said, ‘Have a nice day ma'am,’ and walked out,” she said.
Cowart said the child checked with his father before signing, but that overall, he had “as much confidence as an adult.”
“At first, I had this overwhelming feeling of adoration and I wanted to squeeze this child into a hug,” Cowart said. “And then I came to realize the child didn't even realize how cute it was.”
The picture of the boy’s receipt went viral on reddit after Cowart showed it to her brother and he posted it on the site.
“I did that with my kids,” wrote one commenter on the post. “Great way to teach some life skills.”
