Woman Believes She Is A Cat Trapped In A Human's Body (Video)

A Norwegian woman believes she is a cat in a human’s body.

In an interview published on the NRK P3 Verdens Rikeste Land YouTube channel, a 20-year-old woman named Nano describes her experience as a feline in a human’s body. She puts on cat ears, a tail and later puts on large pink “paws” to groom herself.

"I realized I was a cat when I was 16 when doctors and psychologists found out what was the 'thing' with me," she said. "Under my birth there was a genetic defect."

Vice reports humans who identify as partially or entirely nonhuman are called otherkin. Some people with this condition identify as a particular animal, while others identify with a particular species in a spiritual manner.

While speaking with a reporter in a train station, Nano sees a dog and starts hissing at it.

"Sometimes I hiss when meeting dogs on the street,” she explained. “It’s because of their behavior and my instinct automatically reacts by hissing."

Nano claims she has senses similar to those of cats, such as heightened hearing abilities and night vision.

"It's also obvious that I'm a cat when I start purring and meowing," she said. "And walking around on four legs and stuff like that."

Throughout the video, which has been viewed more than 330,000 times, Nano crawls around her home and perches herself on the windowsill. She said she enjoys sleeping on the windowsill and in the sink.

Nano’s best friend, Svien, is also interviewed and talks about his experiences identifying as a cat. Nano explained that one of his personalities is a cat, while she was born a cat. Svien said they occasionally communicate in “cat language.”

"My psychologist told me I can grow out of it, but I doubt it,” she stated. "I think I will be cat all my life."
