Toni Jo Minot, 40, was sentenced to 119 years in prison on Sept. 30 for sodomizing and sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy, AL.com reported.
Because the victim was under the age of 12, Minot will not be eligible for parole.
The Verbena, Alabama, woman sexually abused the child between Dec. 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009, according to The Clanton Advertiser. Minot was indicted in 2011.
Her husband, Lyndon Minot, 56, is awaiting sentencing on sexual abuse and sodomy charges related to the same victim, according to AL.com. Lyndon has been a registered sex offender since 1999, when he pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse of an 8-year-old boy.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge David Hobdy gave Minot the maximum sentence: 99 years for sodomy and 20 years for sexual abuse.
"This is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard since I have been on the bench," Hobdy said in court, according to AL.com. "I hope [the victim] can grow past the pain.”
Minot maintained her innocence. “The jury found me guilty of something I did not do," she said. "I'm not a monster."
Minot's attorney, Horace Wayne Kynard, said his client will appeal the sentence.
"Although we do not agree with the decision of the jury regarding these charges, we respectfully thank the jury for their service during this judicial process," Kynard said. "My hope is all parties involved may find some type of closure in the near future."
