A Florida woman responded angrily after a police officer pulled her over for driving 30 miles per hour faster than the speed limit.
In a video of the event (shown below), a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy stops a woman in a school zone. The woman was driving 51 mph. The legal limit was 20 mph.
The video cuts away, then shows the deputy returning to the woman’s car with a ticket. When he attempts to offer her a number of legal options, the woman cuts him off with a rude remark.
“You know what? No wonder you people get shot. You’re absolute a**holes,” the woman says.
The officer simply replies with “thank you” and wishes her a good day. He then returns to his vehicle as the woman yells something indecipherable to him.
Since the video was uploaded, it has been viewed more than 80,000 times. The ticketing officer has also received tons of support.
“I am sure anyone who takes a child to school is happy to see people like her get a ticket,” Facebook user Courtney Watts-Moreno wrote. “Imagine your child having to cross a road or walk to school with people driving like this.”
In Palm Beach County, Florida, the penalties for speeding in a school zone include driver’s license demerits and a fine of more than $450.
