A Chicago woman outsmarted her would-be carjacker when she trapped the man in her garage, where authorities found him still sitting behind the wheel.
Andre Bacon, 21, followed the woman into her garage Saturday evening and repeatedly demanded the keys to her 2012 Acura MDX, according to the Chicago Tribune and other local news outlets.
The quick-witted woman relinquished her keys—and then ran out of the garage, closing the door and shutting Bacon in behind her.
The 36-year-old woman called the police and led them to the scene. She opened the door and the group was greeted with the sight of Bacon sitting in the driver's seat of the car he coveted, keys in the ignition, no doubt contemplating his next move.
Bacon is being held in Cook County jail on $75,000 bail on felony counts of attempted vehicular hijacking and theft.
