A Detroit family is asking for anyone who has information on their missing daughter to come forward.
Cynthia Worthy, 23, has been missing since Friday night. The family was able to track down her car in Oak Park Sunday afternoon, but have no answers as to where their daughter might be, Fox 2 reported.
The family admits that they do not agree with some of the decisions Worthy has made in order to earn some extra money. She was reportedly on her way to meet with someone she found on Backpage.com when she went missing.
“Me, as a parent, finding out that she was doing these things is really difficult,” Priscilla Harrison, Cynthia's mother, told WXYZ. "It's really difficult and my thing right now is for people to hold their opinions and find my daughter. If you see her, call the police department."
“Regardless to what she chose to do, it still does not justify violence or kidnapping someone or holding them against their will,” added Shawn Willis, Worthy’s father.
Worthy’s parents were aware of her lifestyle and said they had finally convinced her to change things up prior to Friday’s disappearance.
“We finally convinced her to stop and she enrolled in school and has been on track,” Willis said. “She told me she is about to stop, ‘I can't do this anymore.’”
The family is now handing out flyers to everyone in the neighborhood and pleading for whoever is responsible to return their daughter.
“Just do the right thing and let her go,” Willis said. “Just let her go, drop her off at a gas station. Just do the right thing.”
