Indiana Woman Leaps Out Of Car Due To Spider, Leaves 9-Year-Old Son Behind

On Sept. 18, Angela K. Kipp, 35, of Syracuse, Indiana, was so frightened by a spider on her shoulder, she jumped out of her moving vehicle, leaving her 9-year-old son in the car, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

The boy climbed into the driver’s seat in an effort to stop the car, which was in reverse at the time, because Kipp had been backing out of her driveway when she leaped out of the vehicle. He hit the gas instead of the brake and the car smashed into a passing Wawasee Corporation school bus, WANE reported.

No children were on board at the time and the bus driver, Becky Dunithan, 62, wasn’t injured, USA Today reported. The boy was transported to Goshen General Hospital in stable condition with minor head injuries after he was found lying outside the car.

The crash is still under investigation.
