A prominent New York doctor was found dead in the doorway of a Chelsea apartment building, according to cop sources and authorities.
Kiersten Rickenbach Cerveny, 38, was discovered sprawled across the entry of an apartment building with bruises around her neck on the morning of Oct. 4.
“Her feet were holding the front door open, and her head was by the corner of the door frame,” an EMT told the New York Post.
Cerveny, who lived with her husband and three children, reportedly kept a secret from her family that is believed to have contributed to her death.
“Word is that she likes to do drugs,” a law enforcement source said.
She was not, however, robbed, according to the New York Daily News.
Two men were seen on surveillance video carrying the dermatologist downstairs and into the lobby of the building. They were not seen leaving her body in the doorway, but both men were separately caught leaving the building. One of the men reportedly lives in the building.
“The husband said she was going out with some friends, and she did go out,” a source told the Post.
She was supposed to stay the night with a girlfriend in the city, according to the New York Daily News.
The woman was believed to be bar hopping the night of her death, drinking heavily and possibly doing cocaine, the Post reports.
After Cerveny’s body was found, she was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing.
