A Michigan woman was arrested after she burned her husband's clothes and unintentionally caused a house fire.
Residents of the neighborhood in Pontiac, Michigan, said they contacted sheriff's deputies and firefighters on July 24 for a complaint of open burning, according to MLive.
When authorities arrived at the house, the 42-year-old woman was pouring fuel onto a fire, burning her husband's clothes. The flames then spread to the woman's house, which caught fire, reports WJBK.
Firefighters put the fire out, and deputies took the woman into custody.
"She burned his clothes, basically," one neighbor recalled of the scene.
"She didn't intend to burn the house at all; she didn't intend to cause any damage to her own home. It was more of a, I believe, just -- I don't want to put my own personal twist -- but it's just two people getting into it and solving it their own way, I guess."
It is unclear how much actual damage was done to the house. Detectives from the sheriff's office are investigating the incident.
The woman is awaiting charges at the Oakland County Jail.
