Witnesses to Car Crash Steal Dead Driver's Groceries Out of Her SUV

An unidentified woman was killed in a car crash in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday.

Her two children, ages 4 and 6, suffered broken bones and were taken to a local hospital with other non-life-threatening injuries.

The kids were wearing safety belts, but the mom was not.

The woman was driving out of a private driveway in her SUV when she was hit by a Mercedes. The impact sent her SUV into a tree where she died instantly.

ABC 13 News reports that witnesses to the accident actually saw people steal groceries out of the dead woman's SUV after the accident, but before help arrived.

The mom had gone to her 4-year-old's graduation ceremony, went to a grocery store and dropped off a friend in the private drive before crashing on the way home.

Houston Police Department spokesman Victor Senties told The Houston Chronicle that police did not have any information about who exactly stole the groceries.

"You see the person dead. How do you feel taking the person's groceries?" stated witness Sheila Katoo.

"There is a lot of people you just can't trust," added nearby resident Savannah Roberts. "I've seen worse in this area."
