WikiLeaks Email Fuels Clinton 'Earpiece' Theory (Photos)

After a presidential forum Sept. 7, a conspiracy theory surfaced which suggests that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was wearing an earpiece during her appearance. Now, a 2009 email leaked by WikiLeaks is adding fuel to the fire.

Following the spread of a conspiracy theory initially started by Alex Jones' InfoWars, WikiLeaks has released an email from 2009 in which one of Clinton's top aides, Huma Abedin, asks the then-Secretary of State about her earpiece.

"Did u take your earpiece or do I need to get it?" the email from Abedin to Clinton reads.

The theory picked up steam after the story was tweeted out by Donald Trump Jr. The article from InfoWars showed an image of Clinton from the forum, with what appears to be a flesh-colored earpiece in her ear.

The Clinton campaign denied the allegations, however, saying that the image merely showed a reflection from TV light or a flash. The campaign pointed out that the actual footage from the forum does not show what appears in the photo from the article.

Alex Jones and InfoWars has previously spread conspiracy theories suggesting that the Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax and that the Obama administration has allowed Pepsi to use aborted fetal tissue in its products, AOL reports.
