Cops Were Stunned To Find Out A Kid Saved The Day

A diabetic driver having an episode was lucky enough to be saved from a fatal car crash when a 10-year-old passenger saved the day by steering and stopping the vehicle.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency posted about the incident on its official Facebook page, reports WSFA.

Around noon on March 24, a detective from the Attorney General’s Office saw a car swerving uncontrollably on Interstate 65 in Prattville, Alabama. The car would not yield when the detective tried to stop it.

Then an Alabama state trooper joined in and the car finally stopped on another road. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered the driver was having a diabetic episode and that a 10-year-old boy steered the car to safety, using the brakes to stop it.

The trooper gave the driver some food before emergency medical services came to transport the driver to the hospital. The officer took the child, who was hungry, to a nearby fast food restaurant as they waited for the boy's relatives to arrive.

At the time, it is unknown how the child and driver are related.

ALEA says the child may have saved the life of the driver, his own life and the lives of other motorists on the road, reports WECT.
