A Kentucky man was shot in the neck by his would-be victim after trying to rob her at knifepoint (video below).
The incident occurred on Jan 26. Police said John Ganobick was caught on surveillance camera stalking the woman at a parking garage in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ganobick followed right behind the woman as she got on an elevator. The woman then ran towards her car, WHAS 11 noted. Ganobick reportedly forced his way into the vehicle, put his hand over her mouth, and pulled out a knife. He then demanded that she hand him her money.
But the woman didn’t go down without a fight. The car’s windshield was cracked after a violent struggle and that’s when the woman pulled out a gun from her purse and shot Ganobick in the neck, ABC 7 reported. Ganobick left the car, but when he turned back towards the woman, she shot him in the buttocks, according to WHAS 11.
Surveillance cameras did not capture the fight, but Ganobick can be seen coming down the stairs and bleeding from the neck. A passerby saw him and called 911.
Police recovered a gun and a knife from the scene. Ganobick was arrested and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and criminal mischief. The woman suffered multiple non-life threatening injuries.
Ganobick is set to return to court on March 16.
