Police are on the lookout for a suspect who allegedly slashed a good Samaritan in the face after the Samaritan attempted to stop the suspect from mercilessly beating a dog (video below).
The Daily Mail reports that surveillance video from Staten Island, New York, captures a suspect in a white T-shirt and black cap punching, kicking and beating a dog with a belt. The incident reportedly occurred in May.
In the video, a second suspect stands nearby and converses with his friend but does nothing to stop the brutal beating.
However, a good Samaritan happens by and attempts to prevent the suspect from doing any more harm to his dog. At that point, police said, the suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the Samaritan in the face.
The 32-year-old good Samaritan reportedly received a laceration above his eye and immediately ran away after being slashed, the Daily Mail notes.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or for Spanish, 1-888-577-4782.
