The parents of young children caught on camera abusing each other and fellow passengers (video below) on a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority train have spoken out.

Video showing the young children hitting, cursing and spitting on a SEPTA train has caused an outcry and stunned officials.

Aurelis Rivera is mother to two of the boys, ages 8 and 10, and says she’s “ashamed.” Eulid Perez is the father of the two other boys, ages 7 and 11, and an 8-year-old girl and says he’s “angry” at his children’s behavior.

The event took place March 24 on the Market Frankford El, reports WPVI. A woman with four boys and girl got on the train, according to SEPTA police.

A rider who was punched in the gut by one of the children recorded and uploaded the video to Facebook showing the kids hitting, spitting on and cursing at other passengers.

Authorities released the un-blurred video in the hopes the children would be identified and seek professional help.

"We want to get them help. This is not the kind of case where at 6 a.m. someday we're going to be busting down a door and dragging them out in little handcuffs. It's just not going to happen. We want to get help for them," SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestel said.

SEPTA officials visited the two families involved and both parents say their kids have attention deficit disorder.

Perez blames the bystander who recorded the kids, alleging there was racism involved. "They don't put that on the news when he's calling the kids monkey and all that, that's racist," Perez told WPVI.

Adding, "You know, they're not kids with silver spoons. All they hear is curse words from inside a house through the whole street and everything and then seeing this stranger started enticing them and recording them, getting a kick off of seeing little kids being kids."

Rivera had a different attitude, telling WPVI, "And I just want to apologize to everybody that seen that video. I want to apologize to the man that went through that."
