Reports reveal Rob Kardashian was allegedly depressed and binge eating before his diabetes-related hospitalization on Dec. 28.
Although Kardashian, 29, worried fans after he checked himself in for a diabetes flare-up, he has since been released and is fine, the New York Daily News reports.
Now many are wondering what triggered the incident in the first place. It appears Kardashian's relationship issues with fiancee Blac Chyna, 28, could be the culprit, reports People.
“Rob has made some changes to his lifestyle, but all the latest drama with [Blac] Chyna has made him depressed,” said an anonymous insider. “And he has been on a terrible diet.”
"[He] hasn’t been taking care of himself, and that’s why he’s now sick again," added the source, referring to Kardashian's December 2015 hospitalization where he was formally diagnosed with diabetes.
Ironically, Kardashian once proclaimed himself diabetes-free because of his relationship with Chyna in August 2016.
“She got me through my darkest times,” Rob said of the positive influence Chyna has been on him emotionally. “I wasn’t happy in my own skin. I missed out on so many things.”
More than just emotional support, Chyna's presence in his life reportedly improved his physical health as well.
“When I got out of the hospital, I knew I needed to make changes," he explained in August. "Chyna and I had a really big talk, and she told me that by having her cook for me, my diabetes would be gone -- and it is."
But later reports indicate the relationship may have been on the rocks. The two reportedly lived separately temporarily after the birth of their daughter, Dream Renee Kardashian, on Nov. 10.
Even during the August interview, Kardashian hinted his mood, at least, was heading downhill, stating he was in an “uncomfortable state again."
The hospitalization may prove healing for both Kardashian personally and the couple. Reports reveals Chyna was yet again at her fiance's side during another dark time at the hospital on Dec. 28.
