Reports say that Angelina Jolie may have ulterior motives in the Brad Pitt child abuse allegations.
According to TMZ, Jolie is seeking a Secretary General position in the United Nations. The site's sources claim Jolie had been looking for an opportunity to end her marriage to Pitt and take their six children with her to London.
TMZ had previously reported that Pitt was involved in an altercation with 15-year-old son Maddox while on a private jet. The Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services got involved, but reportedly closed the investigation.
Now TMZ is reporting that Jolie involved the DCFS under the consultation of two women, one of which is a member of England's House of Lords. The other holds a U.K. government position.
These women have allegedly convinced Jolie that she could become Secretary General of the United Nations, and that it would help her chances if she moved to London.
Angelina's representatives have denied claims that the actor was planning to move. They insisted that Jolie's primary focus is the health and well-being of her children, and added that she wants to continue therapy with the children and Pitt.
An unidentified source previously told People that Pitt was inebriated at the time of incident with Maddox, calling it a “parent-child argument which was not handled in the right way and escalated more than it should have.”
“Brad made contact with Maddox in the shoulder area, and there was absolutely no physical injury to him,” the source told People. “He is emphatic that it did not reach the level of physical abuse, that no one was physically harmed. He put his hands on him, yes, because the confrontation was spiraling out of control.”
