It's being called the "Walmart of Weed" -- the first superstore of its kind, and it's now open for business in California.
The 10,000-square foot Sacramento store called "weGrow" opened its doors over the weekend. It doesn't actually sell marijuana -- that would be illegal, of course. It does, however, sell all of the supplies a grower of medical marijuana might need, as well as training to do so.
"I just thought it was a statement to have something close to the state Capitol," said Dhar Mann, who founded the original iGrow. "It's a statement of how progressive the industry has become. We're all about coming out of the shadows."
Mann is hoping to take the chain national, with plans to open stores in New Jersey, Colorado, Oregon, and Arizona.
The weGrow operation started last year out of a warehouse in Oakland, where it was called iGrow.
