Sharmeka Moffitt was set on fire over the weekend and racial slurs were written on her car in Winnsboro, Louisiana.
Moffitt was on a walking trail in Civitan Park, on Sunday, when she was was attacked at 8 p.m. and set on fire by three men wearing white hoodies, reports KNOE-TV (video below).
A friend of Moffitt family said that she had burns on 90 percent of her body, but was in stable condition at the LSU-Shreveport hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Winnsboro Police Chief Kevin Cobb said that the FBI was investigating whether the incident was a hate crime.
A Facebook page called 'Prayers for Sharmeka Moffitt' was created on Sunday night. By Monday, the page had over 8,000 "likes."
