Packing store owner Barbara Hansen thought she was going on News 12 in Phoenix, Arizona, to talk about care packages that she shipped overseas to deployed soldiers.
However, she got a surprise from her daughter, Valerie Hansen, who had just returned from her deployment in Afghanistan.
The entire scheme was thought up by Hansen and News 12.
On her YouTube page, where she uploaded the video, Hansen wrote:
After a deployment in Afghanistan, I came home and surprised my Mom at her work. I got Channel 12 News involved, and she thought they were doing a story on companies that put together care packages for soldiers. She knew I was headed home soon, but had no idea I was back in the states. :)
