Phillip Sailors, a 69-year-old war veteran, was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing 23-year-old Cuban immigrant Rodrigo Diaz, who accidentally drove into Sailors' driveway via wrong GPS directions on Saturday night (video below).
People who were in the car with Diaz told WSB-TV they were trying to pick up a friend, but the GPS took them to the wrong address in Lilburn, Georgia. They waited in the driveway for a few minutes before Sailors came out of the house and fired a gun.
Witness Gandy Cardenas told WAGA-TV: “He didn’t talk to them, he just started shooting. The first shot was in the air.”
Diaz tried to turn the car around to leave, but Sailors fired another shot, hitting Diaz in the head. Sailors held the young people at gunpoint until police arrived.
Sailors allegedly shot Diaz with a .22 caliber pistol. He was charged with malice murder.
