William David Leverett, a bank robber in Tucson, Arizona, wanted to turn himself into the law, but ended up going to three police stations before police would take him into custody, reports CNN (video below).
Leverett's picture was caught on bank surveillance cameras, so he figured it was only a matter of time before he was apprehended, especially after an ex-girlfriend recognized him.
However, budget cutbacks in Tucson have left several police stations deserted during certain hours. Leverett was finally arrested during his visit to the Pima County Jail.
A quick FYI for any other bank robbers: Police say the fastest way to turn oneself in for a crime is to call 911 and then wait for the police to arrive.
