Video: 92-Year-Old Earl Jones Shoots and Kills Intruder Lloyd Maxwell

Earl Jones, a 92-year-old war veteran, killed an intruder, Lloyd Maxwell, at his home in Boone County, Kentucky, reports the Daily Mail.

Jones claims his only regret is that he didn't shoot the other two intruders with Maxwell.

Jones told the Enquirer: "These people aren’t worth any more to me than a groundhog. They have our country in havoc. We got so many damned crooked people walking around today. I was hoping another one would come up. I aimed right for his heart. These people aren’t worth any more to me than a groundhog."

Jones said that around 2 a.m., on Monday morning, he heard a noise coming from the basement and got his .22 caliber rifle.

Holding his gun, Jones sat in his living room with clear view, and shot, of the basement door.

After Maxwell kicked open basement door, 15 minutes later, Jones fixed his aim on Maxwell's chest and fired: “It was simple. That man was going to take my life. He was hunting me. I was protecting myself.”

Maxwell's accomplices Ryan Dalton and Donnie Inabnit fled, taking Maxwell with them. Police, later, found Maxwell’s body and the two men in a 2001 Chevrolet Impala.

The Kenton County Police will probably not charge Jones, as Kentucky as the state has a 'stand your ground law.'
