Police in Dallas have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection to a series of sexual assaults in the area.
Van Dralan Dixson is wanted after investigators say they made a DNA match for him to one of the rape victims, according to MyFoxDFW.com.
"The results provided a positive DNA match for a suspect," said Dallas police spokesman Maj. Jeff Cotner in a story on WFAA. "Officers are working diligently to locate the suspect."
The warrant is for aggravated sexual assault and bond for Dixson is set at $1 million. He also faces charges for deadly conduct.
"We are still awaiting laboratory results on the evidence submitted for testing from other cases," Cotner added.
The 38-year-old Dixson reportedly has a lenghy rap sheet, including convictions for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
WFAA also reported that jail records indicate that Alan Mason, a man picked up for questioning as a person of interest in the sexual assault investigation, remains in jail on completely unrelated charges.
Mason’s grandmother is furious and says police posed her grandson as a suspect.
"He wouldn't hit a lady, let alone rape somebody," said Mason's grandmother, Shirley Clerkley. "He's a sweet guy."
