A mysterious object seen on the surface of the moon thanks to the Google Moon viewer has struck up a lot of speculation as to what exactly it is, with some believing that it is some kind of UFO base.
The startling pictures show something unusual on the face of the moon. At first glance, it appears to be a crater, but upon further investigation, it very clearly is triangular shaped with seven dots along the edges.
Researchers are at a loss trying to determine what it is, but the speculation from others provides interesting theories.
“The gigantic shape actually looks like the leading edge of an immense, triangular space ship, similar to, so far, super secret stealth aircraft technology, but is much larger than any airplane ever built on Earth,” says Tech and Gadget News. “The regularly spaced, circular promontory shapes which make up the seven points on the perfectly formed triangle wedge seem to be intelligently designed. To date, no other feature has ever been discovered which matches this shape on the moon, or any other planet observed by satellite or exploratory rover. The anomaly is so huge, it's possible it is some sort of moon base used as a facility for storing and launching alien UFO spacecraft.”
It’s also being reported that a strange mass looking almost identical to the one seen on the moon has been discovered under ice in Antarctica.
While many believe it to be proof of alien life forms, Catholic Online makes their own speculations and disputes those claims outright.
“Or, it could just be a crater with the seven points caused by reflections of boulders or by other surface features, in which case all of this could be chalked up to the human brain's predilection to see patterns where none truly exist," says Catholic Online.
Despite lots of speculation, nobody can say for sure what the strange object is, but it is an exciting prospect to imagine what researchers will figure out going forward.
