Two small children were found left in a car overnight at Hialeah Park Racing & Casino in Haileah, Florida, while their parents allegedly gambled inside.

Casino employees called police after they found two unattended kids, ages 1 and 4, in a vehicle in the parking lot Thursday night around 1 a.m., CBS Miami reported.

Authorities went inside the casino to make an announcement and minutes later their parents, Tyrell Johnson and his girlfriend Josephine Laidler, showed up.

Johnson and Laidler allegedly told police that the kids were asleep when they parked the car around midnight.

Both were charged with one count each of child neglect.

The children are in temporary custody of the Department of Children and Families. DCF says they have no prior history with the family.
