Two Men Found Dead In Wisconsin Home

Two people were found dead inside a home in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, after police responded to reports of shots fired.

The call came in around 9:20 a.m. on Oct. 10, and police discovered the bodies of two men when they arrived at the house, FOX6 News reported.

“It was hectic, chaotic, scary -- everything you could imagine,” neighbor Christy Doffek told FOX6 News.

Doffek said she originally thought her dogs were responsible for the noise but then noticed law enforcement officers rushing onto her street.

“You couldn't get down the road, you couldn't get in the driveway, there was sheriffs and cops everywhere,” she said.

Police Chief Joel Christensen said he believes it to be either a murder-suicide or double suicide.

“I couldn't tell you the last homicide we've had,” he said. "It's been a number of years."

Christensen did not say how the two men, thought to be ages 27 and 32, were related. He said a young child found them and called police.

“There was a small child in the residence at the time,” Christensen said. "[The child] was related to one of the individuals at the apartment" and is believed to be in the care of his or her mother.

Doffek couldn't believe something like this would happen in her neighborhood.

“Living in Elkhorn, Wisconsin -- absolutely not,” she said. "I mean, we know our neighbors, so definitely not expecting this at all."

An investigation is underway.
