Two Men Charged With Raping 12-Year-Old Girl

Two men residing in the Washington D.C. area have been charged with raping a 12-year-old Maryland girl after one of the men abducted her and told his accomplice she was "fresh meat."

Enrique Carbajal, 24, and Victor Tome, 19, were identified as suspects and held at the Montgomery County jail on a $500,000 bond on April 8.

The two were caught when police conducted a successful sting operation through texting, according to The Washington Post.

Federal immigration officials have filed immigration detainers on Carbajal and Tome, suggesting that they are in the United States illegally and therefore have grounds to deport the two.

Investigators say that Carbajal called the girl’s mother at her job, asking if he could take the girl to lunch, but the mother told him not to.

Carbajal went to the victim’s house anyway, and when she answered, told the girl that her mother had given them consent to have lunch, according to court documents.

Police say the girl was assaulted in her Northeast D.C. home at about noon on March 26, reports The Washington Post. Later, the girl was taken to a van and driven to Carbajal’s apartment in Wheaton, where they had lunch and she was sexually assaulted again.

The victim “stated she then opened the door and Tome came into the room,” according to court records. “Carbajal stated to Tome that ‘fresh meat’ was there, referring to” the child. Tome then raped the girl.

According to the official Montgomery County Police Department website, both Carbajal and Tome was charged with first degree child sexual abuse, second-degree rape, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. D.C. police have also charged Carbajal with first-degree child sexual abuse.

Alexandria Police are also investigating a similar sex crime in their jurisdiction that is related to this case, according to WTTG.
