Trump: Dems Are Shielding Clinton From Indictment (Video)

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump believes the Democratic Party is keeping Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton from being indicted for her use of a private email server while in office to allegedly send confidential correspondence (video below).

“Do you think Hillary Clinton will be indicted?” Trump was asked April 20 on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

“No, because I think the Democrat Party is going to protect her,” Trump responded. “I don’t think she’s going to be indicted. I think what she has done is very, very serious.”

He then compared Clinton’s email scandal to Gen. David Petreaus, who resigned from his position as director of the CIA in 2012 after it was revealed that he shared confidential information with his biographer, with whom he was having an affair, according to Politico. He later pleaded guilty to mishandling confidential information.

“I know for a fact that what Gen. Petraeus and others have done was much less, and it destroyed their lives,” Trump said on “The O’Reilly Factor.” “So I do believe, Bill, that she’s being protected.”

“But how can the Democratic Party protect her from the FBI? Isn’t the FBI non-corruptible?” host O’Reilly asked.

“I hope they’re not working together,” Trump said, adding again that he thinks she is being protected.

Trump added that Clinton cannot be protected from the statute of limitations, and should someone else be elected to office they may create a “dangerous situation" for the former secretary of state.

He noted that should he become president, it is possible that he’d look into the case if it were the “fair” thing to do.

Trump’s comments came after nicknaming the Democratic presidential candidate “Crooked Hillary.”
