Donald Trump blasted GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas during a rally in Iowa on Jan. 20, calling him out for being “owned” by Goldman Sachs.
“What’s he going to do, be rough on Goldman Sachs when he’s got a personal guarantee for like whatever the number was, a million dollars?” Trump said of Cruz, according to Time.
Cruz reportedly received loans from Goldman Sachs, the amount of which he has not disclosed.
“Goldman Sachs owns him, remember that folks," Trump added.
Trump also slammed Cruz for claims that he didn’t realize the issue with being born in Canada.
“So I think you gotta think about that," Trump said. " ... And he said with the being a Canadian citizen he said, ‘Oh I didn’t know that.’ How did he not know that? Then he said with the loans, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that.'"
Trump also claimed Cruz was “worse than Hillary.”
