Man Will Serve Up To 200 Years For Raping 18-Month-Old

A Michigan man who filmed himself raping an 18-month-old girl in a motel room has been sentenced to up to 200 years in prison.

Eric Devin Masters, 29, confessed to sexually assaulting the girl three times over an eight-day period in 2012, the Detroit Free Press reported. His sentence was to be a minimum of 50 years.

Videos obtained from the motel show Masters engaged in multiple sex acts with the child, during which she was occasionally tied to the bed. In one video, Masters urinates on the girl, according to court records.

Police contend that Masters planned to share the videos with others in exchange for more child pornography, the FBI said, according to the Daily Mail.

Masters is serving a 50-year sentence for producing child pornography of three young girls, ages 18 months to 12-years-old, whom he “brutally sexually assaulted,” according to the FBI. The videos he produced included “sleep rape,” wherein he molested the young girls while they slept.

Masters’ crimes took place while he was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard.

It was the child pornography investigation which led investigators to discover the sexual assaults of the 18-month-old girl in the current case, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Judge Mark Trusock made the final decision on how long Masters would serve in prison for three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

“You are truly an evil individual and we need to make sure that you are never allowed in society,” Trusock told Masters before handing down the sentence of between 50 and 200 years on April 14, the Daily Mail reports.

“I want to send a clear message to the Parole Board, when you first come up for parole as a 79-year-old, that I don't want you out,” he said.

In court, Masters apologized for the “horrible crime” and said it was influenced by “something horrible” that had been done to him.

“And then I committed the same horrible thing to others," her said. "With God’s help we can both be healed."
