A train hauling U.S. military equipment slammed into a tractor-trailer stuck on California tracks Sunday in a scene caught on surveillance footage.
The Union Pacific train was carrying equipment from Washington to California when it crashed into the tractor-trailer.
In the video, the driver of the truck can be seen jumping out of his vehicle and trying to warn the train. However, it was too late when the operator saw the truck and the train rolled right into it. The inside of the truck, which contained Walmart's Great Value brand of trail mix, burst onto the road.
"The truck was right in front of us, maybe another five or 10 seconds we would have been in this truck lane, we would have been destroyed," Robert Thissen, who filmed the accident, said. "We would have been killed in this."
Incredibly, the train was not damaged and no one was injured. The train left the scene a few hours later.
