Tom Brady believes his game-winning Super Bowl jersey was stolen from the New England Patriots locker room.
Several records were broken in Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5. The Atlanta Falcons were leading 28 to 9 heading into the fourth quarter, when the Patriots stormed back to force overtime and complete one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history.
But when Tom Brady went back to the locker room, his joy quickly turn into panic. The Super Bowl MVP could not find his jersey, USA Today reported.
“It was right here. I know exactly where I put it,” Brady said. He called security staff and equipment managers to help search for the jersey.
Backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo also helped to look for the jersey, but as more and more time passed, Brady suspected it was stolen.
“This is not good,” Brady said. “It was right here and now I don’t have it. Not good.”
As Brady made his way out of the arena that night, he was asked if he had found his jersey.
"No," Brady replied. "It is going to be on eBay soon, I guess."
The five-time Super Bowl Champion won Super Bowl MVP honors for the fourth time in his career, ESPN reported. He threw for 466 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
