A hilarious note from a couple of tired parents just looking for some extra sleep has gone viral this week, and it’s safe to say that parents everywhere will be copying this message for their own kids.
Samantha Manville of Pasco, Washington found herself awake with her husband at 2 a.m. on Friday night, so instead of accepting the fact that they would inevitably be woken up by their two young children bright and early, they decided to stop it from happening altogether.
"We brainstormed trying to figure out what questions would they have," said Manville. "What would make them knock on the door?"
The result? A hilarious note that every parent can relate to.
“Do not knock and wake up before 10 a.m. unless there is a real EMERGENCY!" reads the note.
The rest of the instructions are as follows:
To answer your questions:
- You can have cereal for breakfast
- Yes, you can watch TV / play Wii
- No, you may not go to your friends house
- No you cannot have a baggie of snacks from the pantry, those are for lunches (yes I mean those ones)
- You can have an orange for a snack. That means one (1) each!
Alexia - don't antagonize your brother.
Liam -- don't be a whiner . . . or at least not 2 loud [sic] one.
We Love you!
Manville says that when she and her husband woke up, the clock read 10:06 a.m. We made it,” she said.
Manville makes clear, though, that this was a one-time miracle.
"It was a one-time thing and we got away with it, " said Manville. "But if the kids start to see it all the time they'll just start to ignore it."
