ESPN reports that Woods underwent fusion surgery on his back in April 2017, the most recent of four surgeries dating back to 2014. The golfer recently shared an update on his website, in which he said that he has no plans to retire from golf, despite his long recovery ahead.

"I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again," Woods wrote on his website, according to ESPN.

Woods, 41, continued: "Presently, I'm not looking ahead. I can't twist for another two and a half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals."

Woods ended his golf season early in February in Dubai, when he withdrew after one round.
