Shocking video shows a brutal attack in a grocery store parking lot, and now, police are vowing to do everything they can do find the ones responsible.
Reports say that a 25-year-old man was walking in a Memphis, Tennessee Kroger parking lot on Saturday night when a group of teenagers began to attack him out of nowhere. Two employees, ages 17 and 18, rushed over to help the man, but they too were beaten by the group. The large gathering of teens reportedly smashed big pumpkins over the Kroger employees’ heads, leaving them unconscious.
Finally, a security guard was able to stop the violence, and after the group left, the two teenage Kroger employees were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Now, Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong says they are working to identify and apprehend the teens responsible for the attack while also saying that this was partially a parental control issue.
“We are fully aware of last night’s incidents,” said Armstrong in a statement. “It is extremely troubling to see how many young people were involved, especially on the heels of last week’s youth forum. A lot of our citizens are working to provide safe and productive alternatives for our youth. For those that choose not to take advantage of these opportunities, we will work tirelessly to identify, locate and hold you accountable. Last night’s events clearly demonstrates a lack of parental controls and if warranted these parents will also be held accountable.”
All three victims are reportedly doing fine, and since video of the attack was posted on Facebook, it’s already gone viral.
