About $500,000 in Red Bull energy drinks were stolen from a warehouse in south Florida, according to Medley police.
The theft of nearly 100 pallets took place between the night of Nov. 9 and the morning of Nov. 11. Employees of the warehouse found the door locks open and discovered the theft.
Police noted that the thieves had a key to the business and had disarmed the security system.
Once the thieves had entered the warehouse, they used forklifts to move 108 pallets.
They also discarded 20 pallets that had been damaged.
Though the warehouse had a security system, police said there were no surveillance cameras in the building, so there was no way to visually identify the thieves.
“I have talked to our police commander,” Medley Mayor Roberto Martell said, “in order to reinforce security in those industrial areas.”
Medley police have asked that anyone with information regarding the theft report it immediately to the police or to the anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline.
