These Little Birds Are Smarter Than A Lot Of Your Friends (Video)

It might be time to reconsider our use of the term “bird brain.” As this video shows, some birds are actually pretty smart.

The University of Victoria recently installed automatically doors at their campus bike center. When the doors were installed, a group of nesting swallows were locked inside. But it didn’t take long for the resourceful little birds to figure out the workings of a motion sensor.

Within just a few days, the birds were seen on camera repeatedly flying in front of the motion sensors and opening the doors so they could come and go from the garage as they wished. Pretty neat.
