Texas resident Veronica Rodriguez recently found an enormous, unwelcome surprise in her bathroom.
Rodriguez heard noises coming from the bathroom, and thought one of her pet guinea pigs may have been loose. But when she opened the door, what she found was anything but a little guinea pig. It was a 12-foot African python.
"As soon as I turned on the light, that's when I saw it," Rodriguez said. "It was crawling into my tub."
Here's a picture of the snake:
Rodriguez immediately called 911.
"When the officer showed up, he came with a brown paper sack," Rodriguez told The Eagle. "I told him, 'You're going to need a bigger sack than that.'"
Animal control eventually showed up with a 10-gallon bucket.
"It was pretty aggressive," police officer Tony Gonzales said. "It definitely didn't want to go into the trash can."
The officers were able to remove the snake from the home with relative ease. They believe the python was someone's escaped pet. Nevertheless, the experience completely freaked out Rodriguez, who admits she is “scared of everything.”
Her daughter, Kelsie Fowler, thought Rodriguez was just being dramatic until she saw a picture of the beast.
"I thought she was being over-dramatic, I thought it was just a grass snake or something," she said. "I'd probably pass out on the floor if I saw that."
