A Texas woman was disgusted after she and her teenage daughters say they found sexually explicit videos on a cellphone they purchased from Wal-Mart.

Tashieka Brown of Channelview, Texas, said she bought the Wal-Mart Family Talk Phone on Nov. 23 because she had used the brand in the past and liked the cellphone plan, ABC 13 reports.

Brown said she noticed the seal on the box was broken, but didn't realize anything was out of the ordinary until she and her 18-year-old daughter tried to set up the phone.

It was then they discovered the phone had already been used.

The mother and daughter reportedly found 30 obscene videos, most of them depicting a man pleasuring himself, on the phone. The device also contained email and text messages that someone else had sent.

Brown said she was shocked and upset by what she saw.

"Oh my word, I was flabbergasted," she told ABC 13. "I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was upset my 18-year-old had seen it and I was even more upset on my way there that she told me my 14-year-old had seen it."

After discovering the videos, Brown took the phone back to the Wal-Mart store where she had purchased it and filed a complaint with the store's customer service department.

Although Brown said the manager who listened to her complaint seemed uninterested, Wal-Mart corporate is looking into the matter.

"We are certainly looking into this and will work with the customer directly to resolve the issue," the spokesman told ABC 13.

Brown's daughter, Destany Johnson, expressed her frustration.

"I'm like I just want to get it out of my head," Johnson said. "That should have been erased before we even got the phone."

This was not the first time a customer discovered obscene content on a newly purchased cellphone.

In July 2014, a woman in Houston, Texas, called police after finding pictures of naked children on a phone she bought from a local store, Click2Houston reported in January.

The discovery led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who had previously used the phone to download child pornography.
