Woman Asked To Leave Restaurant After Changing Baby's Diaper At Table

A mother in Texas and her three children were kicked out of a local pizza restaurant after the mom changed her baby’s diaper at the table.

Miranda Sowers said that she had initially wanted to change her 4-month-old daughter in the bathrooms at the Brother’s Pizza Express, according to the Huffington Post.

But the restaurant, which is a small business, did not have changing tables in its restrooms, according to KHOU.

Sowers said she did not want to take her whole family, including her baby named Reagan, her 4-year old named Lauren and her 8-year-old daughter Katelyn, out of the restaurant to the minivan.

She then proceeded to change her baby’s diaper at the table, saying that she did it “quickly and quietly.”

"I thought you know what I've got my own changing pad, she's tiny, she fits right here on the chair," Sowers said.

Bessa Lala, an employee whose family owns the restaurant, said that she was surprised by the mother and that the changing did not happen in a quiet or secret manner.

She said that she did not want other customers to be offended by the mother’s actions, and that the family’s food was given to them in to-go containers because of the event.

"How would you feel," Lala said. "You're sitting there eating. I don't want to lose all these other customers because they see a dirty diaper."

Though Sowers said that she thought no one saw her change the diaper, store owners disagreed. The mother has now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

"As soon as you start opening the diaper, people start complaining about the smell of the diaper," said Donny Lala, Bessa Lala’s brother. "Last thing I want is a customer throwing up."
