Members of a Mississippi community are searching for answers after a 19-year-old was viciously burned to death on Saturday.
According to reports, Jessica Chambers, 19, was found near her car engulfed in flames on Saturday night. The teen’s car was also on fire. Chambers was flown to a nearby hospital but later died, and autopsy results reveal that she passed away due to burns that covered 98 percent of her body.
Reports say that Chambers was likely doused in accelerant, and some reports say that the liquid may have even been poured down her throat. The daughter of a Panola County Sheriff’s Department worker, Chambers reportedly may have told investigators who killed her moments before she took her last breath.
“She told them, she told them, told him who done it," said Ben Chambers, Jessica’s father. “When the fire department got there, she was walking down the road on fire. Only part of her body that wasn't burned was the bottom of her feet.”
Jessica's mother, Lisa, says that the teen left the house momentarily, and nobody ever suspected anything would happen to her.
“They have ripped everything I have," she said. "She left to go clean out her car and was going to get her something to eat."
A Facebook page was set up to honor Jessica. Investigators say that they are still searching for answers following this gruesome murder.
