Teens Killed Trying To Take An 'Airplane Selfie'

Muhammet Bozkurt, 17, and Caglar Savasci, 19, were apparently seeking the perfect selfie when they decided to lay down on a road outside of an airport in Turkey at night to take a photo with an airplane.

A truck didn’t see the teens and their three friends in the road and hit both Bozkurt and Savasci, killing them, Milliyet, a Turkish-language news source, reported. The truck’s headlights weren’t on at the time, but the victims’ friends rolled out of the way to safety at the last minute.

The teens were taking a road trip to Antalya, on the southwest coast of Turkey, when they stopped to take a selfie with an airplane as it passed overhead, the Mirror reported. All of the teens were reportedly drinking alcohol at the time of the incident.

The driver stopped and called the police, who are now currently investigating the teens’ deaths. The bodies of  Bozkurt and Savasci will be autopsied.

No charges have been filed.
