A mob of teens wreaked havoc through the streets of Memphis on Friday night. Now, many are left wondering if it is in some way connected to another teen mob attack at a Memphis grocery store earlier this month, which was reported on by Opposing Views.
According to WREG, a large group of teens went on a rampage in the streets near Central High School just before 10 p.m. Witness Sharon Mourning says that she was in the car with her daughter Princess when a huge group of teens surrounded her vehicle.
“Had I had been armed we would have had a lot of kids laying in the Bellevue street that night,” Mourning said. “All of a sudden just about 20 kids are on top of my car with about 40 more kids around my car and they kicking, they stomping, they jumping, you know they hitting the windows. They was just laughing and hollering, and doing what they were doing and having fun with it.”
“It was like a whole group of kids coming from the game,” said Mourning’s daughter Princess.
Mourning also claims that another man had a brick thrown at his window when he honked at them to move out of his way. She also says that she saw the mob beat an elderly man and a young teen.
“I actually looked at the child. His face was bleeding. You know they had done beat him,” said Mourning.
Mourning was able to call the police, and two 17-year-olds were briefly detained before being let go. The disturbing mob attack is eerily similar to one that occurred earlier this month at a Memphis Kroger grocery store in which a huge group of teens flooded the parking lot and viciously beat store employees.
